Where the big bad boss mobs would actually get summoned by groups hoping to turn the tide, and they would then stomp through the Field of Strife smiting lowbies left and right as they ran for the hills.

Where you could get thousands of rep per run and still be helping your team by doing turnins, as opposed to being yelled at because you weren’t ALL IN with 4 towers still up and no one to tank Van.

When a rogue could cap Dun Baldar North and you could see the Alliance flooding back to retake it.

When, every once in a while, you’d see Horde and Alliance both standing around a fishing pond, fishing up Lighting Eels, oblivious to the carnage around them, and no one really cared.

Yeah, good times.

Though I have to say, anything to make AB and WSG shorter is gravy in my book. They’re still boring.

Seriously, though, it depends on the scale of the achievement. I would love to have all my characters with a free 310% speed mount but there simply isn’t time in the day. I dragged my rogue through the entirety of the Flame Keeper achievement simply because he had no title besides “Noble” (which was damned simple to do anyway) and he was early-40s, so I thought it’d be cool to have a title that even 80s avoided. For Noblegarden, I dragged as many through as I could stand (7 I think). For Flame Keeper, it was 2.5, because my paladin never finished. For all the rest, its been just niente really. Perhaps this year’s Brewfest will renew my achievement whoring, but really, most of the achievements I care about now I can’t get solo (dungeon runs and such) so I have to go with whoever I can at the time, which is slim since I work until 11 server now. Ah well.

How do I deal with it? Simple. I get my one main all of the achievements, and the rest get whatever scraps I feel up to at the moment. So much simpler than trying to get them all everything they can get. Hell, gearing up 3 80s, a 77, and a 68 who might end up tanking is hard enough to not need achievements on top of it!

Fortunately for me, I have an ‘empty’ slot on the home server (an alliance lowbie toon I use to check cross-faction AH prices…), but I hear what you’re saying about needing more character slots. Too bad Blizz recognizes a revenue source when they see it…guess you’ll have to get another account to have a second set of 10 on the same server.

So, either you delete existing toons or pick a new server. Personally, I say pick up a new server for them. Surely if you’re guild’s that strong they’ll all be willing to do the same. Just let them know outright that the idea is just to check out the new races or new race/class combos and that you aren’t leaving the current server you just don’t have room for the new toons.

When you said you had all of your alts over level 60 I thought you were pretty hardcore. Then I realized you meant all alts on a single server and that thought changed to “pfft, alt-a-wannabe”.

I’ve had 70 alts across 13 servers, deleting and rerolling as I go. I’ve been doing a massive purge here lately and I’m now down to 7 servers and only about 30 characters (I almost got down to 20, then rerolled several more. /fail). But I’ve got 3 servers picked out in particular that I’m going to play on when Cat gets here. My main server for toons I seriously want to level and have a lot of fun with, one for alliance toons, and another for Horde. I’ll be spread out across all three of these servers, and the other servers I’m on right now will probably be left behind for a while as I focus on leveling at least one of all 12 races.
